As a fundamental part of hospice care, volunteers dedicate their valuable time and unique services to the hospice program through moral support. These special individuals are men and women of all ages that come from various backgrounds and contribute their great assets to our program.
To many patients, their illness calls for people to talk to, waiting for mail to arrive, or the ringing sound of the telephone. Volunteers help fill this feeling of emptiness and allow patients to feel warmth, care and understanding through this time of distress. By visiting the patients, volunteers send a very important message: one that shows them there are still people in this world who care for them, and understand their needs in this time of suffering.
